The Galaxy finished their preseason matches with a less than convincing 1-0 victory over KC. Carlos Ruiz scored from a spot kick in the 8th minute and was later substituted before half-time after taking a knock. Word is, he'll be fine for the season opener against NE on Saturday. Kevin Hartman saved a penalty halfway through the second half after Danny Califf was judged to have brought down Matt Taylor in the box.

Recent Colorado signing, Antonio de la Torre may have been close to being a Galaxy player last year. Talking to the San Antonio News-Express, the player said, "I wanted to play and had a chance to play with the Los Angeles Galaxy last year, and then some personal issues kept me from coming. But the desire to come over here stayed in me." Torre and his Rapids teammates play New York in a friendly in San Antonio tonight.

Following up on the report 3-10 in the Washington Post, it looks like the reported match between the Galaxy and Iran's National team will take place at the HDC on April 28 at 7:30. No offical announcement has been made yet.
According to USSoccerUK, former Galaxy defender, Greg Vanney has been added to Bruce Arena's squad to face Poland next week.
USSoccerUk is speculating that the injury Hong Myung-bo recieved in the match Saturday against Fresno could be putting a hold on Ryan Suarez' rumored move to Dallas.
The San Diego Union-Tribune talks to Jovan Kirovski in today's paper about his return to Southern California after 12 years in Europe.

Carlos Ruiz scored from the penalty spot in the 54 minute as he lead the Galaxy to a 1-0 win at Fresno Fuego last night. The amatures from the Central Valley played a physical game and Cobi Jones, Hong Myung-Bo and Chris Albright all had to come off with injuries. They will be evaluated after the team returns to LA.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune spoke with Sigi Schmid and Doug Hamilton. Of note in the article, Schmid doesn't expect recient signing, Andreas Herzog, to be an end-to-end player but, "He can hit long or short passes, and more than anything, has the ability to hit that final pass." Hamilton noted that they are looking at the possiblity of bringing Ezra Hendrickson back into the squad. Hendrickson was traded to Dallas durning the season last year and was waived by the Texas recently. He still has a house in LA that he bought before the start of last season and would still like to play here. Hendrickson's return depends on developments to bring one of the Brazilian players to LA from Sao Paulo on loan. Hamilton said there's a good possiblity of adding on of the Brazilians to the squad by opening day.
This mornings La Opinion is reporting that Chivas MLS and AEG are very close in their negotiations to have Chivas USA share the HDC with the Galaxy as their home stadium. Galaxy GM, Doug Hamilton is quotes as saying, "I want Chivas to play here (HDC)" Part of the deal is believed to be that the Galaxy will recieve parking money from Chivas USA matches thought to be worth around $50,000/match. Over a 20 match season that would around $1 million additional income Galaxy and HDC owners AEG would recieve.

Fans attending Galaxy home matches this season can expect to see a lot of ads for "La Opinion" at the HDC this season. The team and the Spanish language paper announced an agreement today which will rename the north end of the stadium "La Doce-the 12th Man." The paper will offer discounted ticket rates to their subscribers in return for being the “Official Spanish Language Newspaper of the Los Angeles. Galaxy” during the 2004 and 2005 Major League Soccer seasons.

Despite playing all 90 minutes last night against San Jose, La Opinion is reporting today that defender Ryan Suarez is the odd man out in the backline and expects to be traded. The player thought to be edging Suarez out of the squad is Brazilian, Flavio Costa, who with Marcelo Saragosa, joined LA on their tour to France a couple of weeks ago on trial. A loan deal to bring Costa and Saragosa to LA from their Brazilian side, Sao Paulo, is still being worked out. It's thought that Suarez could be heading to Colorado in a trade.
LA beat San Jose 2-1 in a match played at UCSB lat night. SJ took the lead in the first half through a penalty from De Rosario. However, 2 second half goals from Arturo Torres and Carlos Ruiz insured victory for LA.

Galaxy fans will be able to ask coach Sigi Schmid questions this Sunday when he appears live on The Mighty 1090 in San Diego. The station is the home for the Galaxy's radio voice, Joe Tutino where he is the Executive Producer & Sports Anchor. Schmid will be on the air starting at 9:35 am. Fans can call in at 1-877-792-1090. Forward Alejandro Moreno started and played the first half of Venezuela's 2-1 victory against Honduras last night.
HDnet have announced their schedule of matches for the first half of the season. LA Galaxy will be featured 6 times during that period. The remainder of the schedule will be announced closer to mid-season.

Alejandro Moreno is in Venezuela for tonights match against Honduras. Moreno recently played 45 minutes for his country against Australia.
The Galaxy, now back from their French Tour, knocked off UC Irvine today 4-0 with goals from Ned Grabavoy, Joseph Ngwenya, Carlos Ruiz and Cobi Jones.

Mentioned at the end of an article in today's Washington Post is a possible match between LA Galaxy and the Iranian national team. This would be part of a tour which could also involve a match for Iran against Guatemala at RFK Stadium.
AEG President & CEO, Tim Leiweke let slip on ESPN Radio's Joe & Doug show that they are working to bring Real Madrid to LA and will face the Galaxy at the Rose Bowl in late July or early August.

According to the Nashville Tennessean, the Galaxy will take on UAG (Los Tecos) in a frendly at the Nashville Coliseum on April 20. The formal announcement of this match is expected tomorrow.

In an interview on the Los Angeles Galaxy Official Website, former defender, Greg Vanney when asked about a return to LA after his contract with Bastia expires said, that he has "unfinished business in L.A. Three chances at a title and didn’t get one. I don’t care to play for any other team in MLS besides L.A. From the day I was drafted in L.A., it was kind of a goal and a dream of mine to play from my first day to my last day all in L.A. That to me is an honor in itself." He went on to say that going to France was both to grow as a player and make some money. He finished by saying, "I would definitely want it to be back in LA with the fans there and the club. The club has done well for me since coming into the league and I would only play in a Galaxy uniform. The Galaxy is why I’m here right now. So, as long as the Galaxy will have me back, I’ll be back."
